Requirements

  • Mastery of all core QC Tech responsibilities, including labeling, portioning, meal bagging, shipping line, and final box verifications
  • Mastery of Home Chef’s Receiving Process and Outbound Transfer Process
  • Ability to perform on-the-floor coaching, training, and retraining for new and less experienced QC Techs
  • Proficiency with Home Chef FSQA Tools & Applications
  • Availability to work one of the specified shift schedules (Day or Night shifts with defined days off, start/end times)
  • Professional communication, respect for co-workers, punctual attendance, and adherence to time off request procedures
  • Commitment to facility GMPs

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills all responsibilities of a QC Tech, including packing, managing donations, and setting up, breaking down, and maintaining portioning equipment
  • Performs Start-of-Shift and Product Changeover Activities: verifies equipment/table setup, correct ingredients, scale verification, and appropriate tools/utensils
  • Supports Core QC Activities: demonstrates mastery of QC Tech duties, escalates quality issues (e.g., produce quality, high temperatures) to FSQA Supervisor/leadership, and accurately documents verifications
  • Conducts Detailed Ingredient Inspections: performs off-the-line checks (e.g., full box inspections) as directed
  • Performs Temperature Checks: checks every cooler and freezer once per shift, documents results, and escalates issues
  • Provides Training, Retraining, and Coaching: serves as point of contact for FSQA tools/applications, delivers on-floor training to QC Techs
  • Handles Issue Escalation: promptly notifies FSQA Supervisor/leadership of food safety/quality issues (e.g., produce quality, portioning quantity, missing ingredients)
  • Maintains positive Attitude and Attendance: arrives on time, communicates professionally, treats co-workers respectfully, escalates attitude issues
  • Follows and enforces facility GMPs throughout the facility
