BA/BS education in the Sciences or Business disciplines preferred or at least 6 years’ experience in related field
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Experience with 9CFR & EU regulatory requirements
Experience maintaining departmental budgets and tracking inventory using relevant management systems
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment and/or QC Coordinator I level is beneficial
Good mathematical, science, and computer skills
Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills required
Strong communication skills required
Strong attention to detail, ability to work well independently and as a part of a team, and ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the organization
Must be able to walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time
Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently
Must be able to work scheduled 40 hours with the ability to work overtime as needed
Frequent lifting and carrying of 5 to 25 lbs. Occasional lifting of heavier items up to 40lbs
Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting
Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Ability to work for short periods in coolers and freezers as required for sample handling and inventory management
Responsibilities
Review and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and reagents to support laboratory operations
Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, and promptly notify QC personnel of any delays or discontinuation of materials from vendors
Monitor and track department budget related to materials and supplies to ensure spend is staying within allotted budget
Maintain preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration schedules for QC equipment (e.g., pipettes, thermometers, and other departmental instruments)
Schedule and document equipment servicing and calibration activities
Prepare test reports for submission to regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with required standards
Coordinate and track the shipment of test samples or reagents to vendors or external laboratories, ensuring clear communication, proper documentation, and strict chain of custody throughout the process
Serve as back-up for the QC sample room, assisting with sample receipt, storage, and tracking
Provide support for other QC administrative functions as needed, including documentation, filing, and record management
