Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software or system testing, ideally in safety-critical or complex environments
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, C++, etc.)
  • Experience working with bug-tracking and test management tools
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured, methodical approach to problem solving
  • Proactive and curious mindset with a strong desire to understand AV systems and edge-case behaviors
  • Excellent ability to plan, prioritize, and work effectively in dynamic, on-road testing environments
  • Solid understanding of traffic laws and driving behavior in real-world settings
  • Significant driving experience and full confidence in your driving skills under various conditions
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. (no relocation sponsorship or remote work options)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute structured on-road testing for new features, bug fixes, and release validation
  • Develop detailed test plans, checklists, and real-world test scenarios
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure consistent AV behavior across software versions
  • Monitor and log vehicle behavior during test drives, flagging unexpected outcomes
  • Analyze collected driving data to identify issues and edge cases
  • Reproduce and validate issues in simulation using real-world data
  • Organize and maintain datasets to support ongoing testing, debugging, and performance tracking
  • Create clear, actionable test reports and contribute to safety and performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with Motion Planning, Prediction, Perception, and other teams to continuously improve test coverage and system reliability
  • Work closely with other QA Engineers and Safety Drivers to align on goals, share insights, and jointly drive investigation and validation efforts
  • Define, assign, and track tasks related to testing, data review, and issue triage within the QA team
