Requirements

  • Associates' degree and a minimum of 2 years' work experience in the area supported, or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 4 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years' work experience in the area supported
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with pertinent spreadsheet, word processing, database and presentation software
  • Detail-oriented

  • Prior experience providing written or verbal feedback (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and/or complete audits of activities of a complex nature within an assigned area of the Bank to ensure adherence to internal policies and processes and external regulations
  • Identify issues of non-compliance and communicate to appropriate parties as well as the individual employee as warranted to prevent future recurrence
  • Maintain records of discovered deficiencies. Complete regular reporting on these activities. Identify trends in the data and recommend changes in policies and processes to address these
  • Maintain a current knowledge of the policies, processes and regulations affecting monitoring and/or auditing activities to ensure validity of analyses and findings
  • Identify potential areas for process or procedural improvements. Make recommendations and assist in implementing those approved
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced personnel
  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
  • Complete other related duties as assigned
