Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a mental health related field plus three years post-bachelors professional experience in mental health, one of which is in a crisis setting OR master's degree in a mental-health-related field, plus one year of post-master's professional experience in a psychiatric setting
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, use of an insured vehicle, and an acceptable driving record. Local travel required
Flexibility and passion for working with children/adolescents

Responsibilities

Provides appropriate referral and linkage when indicated
Develops and implements alternative treatment plans
Consults with psychiatrist and E.R. doctor regarding client disposition
Provides assessment of drug and alcohol involvement when clinically indicated and provides disposition planning for D/A involved patients
Completes Authorization for Police Transport form (when appropriate), Screening Document, and appropriate clinical instruments
Works collaboratively with coworkers and agency staff to effectively communicate and problem solve
Provides emergency/mental health assessments to patients in need of crisis stabilization
Screens patients in crisis for psychiatric hospitalization - both voluntary and involuntary
Provides crisis stabilization services to patients in psychiatric crisis (in hospitals and community)
