Requirements

Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA and possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year program. A minimum of 5 years of related experience in the steel fabrication industry is required, along with knowledge of AISC, AWS, ASTM, and OSHA requirements. Effective communication, customer orientation, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiating skills are essential. The ability to interpret instructions, exceptional organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Google Suite are also necessary. The role requires the ability to apply basic geometry and trigonometry concepts and a willingness to travel for training and job site visits.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager will manage customer projects by interacting with internal departments and providing external customers with information and support. They will provide operational direction and guidance for bridge product production from sale to contract close-out, develop and maintain customer relationships, and coordinate with drafting/engineering and production coordinators to establish project schedules. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving purchase orders, invoices, and sales contracts, reviewing specifications to ensure scope consistency, and maintaining records of customer communications. The role involves replying to Requests for Information, following up on codes affecting delivery, researching and writing change orders, processing extra credit, and ensuring final drawings and calculations are sent. Additionally, the Project Manager will process back charge forms, review claims, document issues, resolve claims with management approval, update tracking spreadsheets, attend job site meetings, work with customers on-site to minimize back charge costs, research accounting issues, and prepare reports and correspondence.
