Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in industrial environments, with preference for power generation and distribution
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector (highly advantageous)
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including power systems, control systems, and electrical safety standards
  • Experience with electrical equipment design, procurement, and installation
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and regulations (e.g., NEC)
  • Proven ability to be a contributing member in a high-performing team
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Flexibility to travel to field locations up to 25%, or as required
  • Participation in drug and alcohol program (safety-sensitive position)
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Professional Engineer License (bonus)
  • Experience with renewable energy technologies (bonus)
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and data acquisition (bonus)

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of comprehensive project plans, including technical design, equipment and material specification, ensuring budget and schedule alignment
  • Contribute to regular project status meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Contribute to the design and specification of electrical systems for power systems projects, including power generation equipment, transformers, low/medium/high voltage cable and wiring
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards, codes, and regulations
  • Develop and review technical documentation, drawings, and specifications
  • Manage the procurement of electrical equipment from vendors
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems at field locations, both domestically and internationally
