Requirements

At least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment
Proven record of success in a fast-paced environment
Ability to easily lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
Previously held Forklift Certification and ability to safely operate a forklift
Working knowledge of products and their quality requirements
Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
Ability to perform repetitive duties, including going up and down stairs and standing for long periods of time
Ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
Reliable, with good initiative, committed, and quality focused
Ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Willing to work overtime if needed
Excellent attendance
Sonoco mission driven, with a “get it done” attitude and urgency to resolve problems/tasks

Responsibilities

Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
Thinking on your feet and troubleshooting problems and situations
Making incremental process adjustments, monitoring and reporting quality of manufactured product
Learning to set up new jobs, training on other lines and in other departments
Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area
Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager
Performing all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies
Helping out other departments as needed
Using downtime for cleaning and straightening
