Requirements

Previous manufacturing experience required
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
Previous safety training required
Troubleshooting experience or mechanical aptitude required
Experience assisting with changeovers preferred
Experience working in a team-oriented environment preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to communicate and work effectively in a team structure
Flexibility in work assignments within the operator category (e.g., Mixer, Fryer, Oven Operator, Wrap Operator, Depositor, Scaler, VFFS, Pearson, Vari Straight Right/Left, Enrober, Forklift, Yard Dog)
Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
Ability to safely and accurately complete assigned duties and maintain GMP standards
Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit, climb/balance, stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl, lift/move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
May require use of equipment needing certification

Responsibilities

Set up operation of bakery equipment and manufacturing line, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products per production guidelines
Ensure compliance with Production/Packaging procedures/practices and inspect all areas within one line/equipment for operational and/or mechanical issues
Report all equipment issues to the supervisor or manager as soon as possible
Complete and submit reports throughout the day regarding production
Visually inspect product for quality and quantity
Monitor runs and perform basic troubleshooting on bakery equipment
Support quality control programs to ensure production procedures follow best practices of food safety and quality standards
Understand and comply with all safety procedures that apply to daily operations
Work safely and follow proper lock out/tag out procedures where applicable
Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to safety policy, 5S SOP, SSOP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) procedures
Adhere to safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
Disassemble and sanitize bakery equipment to meet all food safety requirements and guidelines
May perform other duties not listed
