Product Owner - Member Administration Platform

Position Overview

This role is crucial for modernizing our mastering process and ensuring the highest level of care for our customers. The team embraces modern cloud-based technologies, engineering, agile methodologies, and DevOps, fostering a culture of enterprise leadership, customer focus, and associate development.

As a Product Owner within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) release train, you will be responsible for conveying product vision and roadmap to an Agile delivery team by defining user stories and prioritizing the product backlog. This role involves analyzing complex situations and data, requiring an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

  • Product Backlog Management: Own, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog for the team.
  • User Story Definition: Create business features and user stories within JIRA Align.
  • Vision Communication: Share and decompose Features into user stories, representing the business voice to the team.
  • Customer Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of customer and product needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Business Owners, Product Managers, Release Train Engineers, and Delivery Managers to ensure value delivery.
  • Strategic Planning: Partner with key business and IT stakeholders to develop strategic plans for technologies impacting all Lines of Business.
  • Backlog Prioritization: Periodically re-prioritize the Product Backlog based on customer feedback, market changes, and business priorities.
  • Acceptance: Formally accept user stories once all acceptance criteria are met and demonstrated.
  • Agile Participation: Actively participate in Product Backlog grooming, retrospectives, defect management, and release planning sessions.
  • Team Support: Be accessible to the team for questions and actively participate in Sprint planning and Daily Scrums.
  • Continuous Improvement: Own the continual acceptance criteria for business value story user stories.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to work business hours aligned to Eastern Standard Time (EST).
  • Minimum 3 years of IT experience in an Agile environment, product support, and/or backlog contribution.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including presenting demonstrations to large audiences and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines.
  • Team-oriented with a passion for contributing to organizations focused on improving consumer experiences.
  • Practical understanding of SAFe principles and practices.
  • Strong presentation skills, analytic skills, and a passion for improving consumer experiences using technology.
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify and pursue opportunities without explicit direction.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps.
