Requirements

Good understanding of Automotive Driveline or Powertrain components
Good analytical skills for designing and analyzing components and sub-systems
Thorough knowledge of component drawing requirements, including tolerances, GD&T, and their use in stack calculations

Responsibilities

Perform engineering analysis and calculations on components and sub-systems and present rationale to program team
Issue CAE requests and provide direction as needed for analysis of systems and components
Create and maintain component and/or sub-system DFMEAs and use them to define Special Characteristics
Create design work orders and provide direction to CAD as necessary to develop the product design. Approve and release engineering drawings
Create ADVP&R to validate components and write lab work orders to direct technicians to conduct testing on components
Analyse components for wear and durability
Write test reports relating to the outcome of tests performed
Be the point of contact for technical discussions with Purchasing, suppliers, and Supplier Development Engineers
Create technical criteria for supplier selection and participate in the selection process
Support global engineering organization with knowledge and best practices
Promote component re-use through knowledge of the global component family
Review / Approve internal and external change requests
Provide technical support for component issues arising in validation or warranty concerns
Provide cost reduction ideas for their respective components
