Requirements

  • Expertise in continuous improvement tools such as Lean Manufacturing/Toyota Production Systems, Six-Sigma, 5S/6S, Total Productive Maintenance, Kaizen Events, Value Stream Maps, DOEs, FMEAs, and Advanced Problem-Solving
  • Ability to conduct data analysis on scrap, downtime, line rates, and material usage, and prepare charts/reports for data-driven decisions
  • Knowledge of process control, variation reduction, and process capability improvement to ensure product quality and standards adherence
  • Experience in developing engineering procedures, SOPs/SOCs, training programs, and work cell layouts for material flow optimization and 5S/visual management
  • Capability to lead cost reduction initiatives, brainstorming sessions, and action plans for profit improvement (e.g., reducing utilities, cycle times, scrap, downtime, material variance, labor)
  • Proficiency in supporting capital projects, including scope definitions (capabilities, throughput, controls, parameters, data acquisition), RFQs, and execution plans (installation, HSE, training, ramp-up)
  • Participation in occupational health and safety activities, including leading near miss, hazard, and incident reporting

Responsibilities

  • Support operations by leading and directing technical activities to solve problems across the facility
  • Develop and maintain process guidelines (SOP/SOC) and training programs for new products and systems
  • Conduct data analysis of scrap, downtime, line rates, and material usage; prepare charts and reports for plant team decisions
  • Reduce process variation to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to manufacturing/agency standards
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives through materials, product, and process improvements; facilitate WCI/PIP brainstorming and action plans
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.) and update manufacturing standards based on performance improvements
  • Develop work cell layouts to optimize material flow and support 5S/visual management
  • Initiate new equipment/technologies, including scope definitions, RFQs, and execution timeline plans
  • Participate and lead in near miss, hazard, and incident reporting for occupational health and safety
