Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a BS and/or MS degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum (export control requirement)
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and personal management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment; naturally curious
  • Ability to be on-site at offices in Rochester, NY and/or Rush, NY
  • Minimum GPA 3.0 preferred
  • Familiarity with CAD software/tools such as AutoCAD 2D/3D and/or SolidWorks (desirable)
  • Familiarity with process simulation software; ChemCAD preferred
  • Previous co-op, internship, or relevant project background in engineering industrial machinery and/or automation solutions (advantageous)
  • Prior exposure to ISO9001 or comparable quality framework (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools & methodologies (advantageous)

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams in diverse tasks: requirements gathering, concept & preliminary builds, process flow diagram (PFD) and piping & instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development, equipment specification & selection, engineering calculations, bill of materials (BOM) creation, materials selection, code & standard review/research, fabrication & assembly support, troubleshooting, and more
  • Generate plans & layouts using CAD software/tools and process simulation tools
  • Contribute to the creation and writing of technical reports & project documentation
  • Partner with a senior or principal engineer mentor to set and achieve personal and professional development goals
  • Participate in internal & client project meetings and compose reviews
  • Work with project managers to plan, manage, and complete tasks successfully
