Knowledge of radiological equipment operation and quality control
Ability to assist physicians in interventional radiology procedures while maintaining sterile technique
Compliance with HIPAA policies and standards regarding patient confidentiality
Familiarity with state and federal regulations for radiology procedures
Skills in patient preparation, positioning, shaving, prepping, transfers, and transport
Proficiency in inputting patient data into C-Arm and administering fluoroscopy
Ability to draw up and label intravenous medication per organization policy
Competence in processing x-ray images and archiving to repositories
Understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) tools and practices
Ability to maintain accurate medical records, perform audits, and ensure compliance
Skills in inventory management, supply ordering, and waste disposal
Effective communication with physicians and staff
Participation in training, orienting new employees, and CQI meetings

Responsibilities

Supports the Organization’s mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy
Assists physicians in performing interventional radiology procedures
Operates and performs quality control on radiological equipment per policies and training
Assists with inventory and supply management
Prepares patient and procedure room for radiology procedures in compliance with policies and regulations
Reviews patient-specific procedure orders to determine needed materials/supplies
Sets up/stocks procedure room/trays with supplies and equipment; cleans room and equipment post-procedure
Conducts necessary preparations of the patient procedure room and documents appropriately
Explains procedures to patients, answers questions, and addresses concerns
Prepares patient for surgical procedure by positioning, shaving, and prepping
Performs patient transfers and transports to/from procedure room
Inputs patient data into C-Arm
Acts as scrub assistant during procedures, administers fluoroscopy, and maintains sterile technique
Draws up intravenous medication and labels per policy
Processes x-ray images and archives to image repository, CD, or DVD
Provides outstanding patient care, supports quality standards, and meets regulatory requirements via CQI
Assists with implementing quality goals and action plans
Ensures medical records are accurate, complete, and compliant; maintains integrity and performs audits
Maintains environmental integrity, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety
Inspects equipment daily before/after procedures; makes recommendations for replacements/repairs
Assists with disposal of hazardous waste, dirty linen, and rugs
Prepares, organizes, and utilizes supplies/equipment efficiently to prevent waste
Attends and participates in Governing Body meetings, assists with agenda and data gathering
Ensures effective communication with physicians and addresses their concerns
Attends and participates in CQI meetings, reporting on assigned topics
Works with physicians/staff to ensure necessary instruments/equipment are available
Assists in training and orienting new employees
Reviews procedures for accurate and timely patient billing, documents charges, verifies CPT/ICD9 codes
Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies
