Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 8 years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership. Proficiency in Python and experience with cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure are essential. Demonstrated experience building applications with LLMs or generative AI, and developing/operating core ML infrastructure, MLOps systems, or data-intensive platforms is required. Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD, 2+ years in people management, proven Tech Lead Manager experience, deep hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks, expertise in the end-to-end ML lifecycle, experience defining multi-quarter technical strategies, and a track record of delivering complex 0-to-1 projects.
The Principal Engineer, Tech Lead Manager, AI Agents for ML Infra will define the technical vision and roadmap for AI agents within ML infrastructure, identifying automation opportunities. They will recruit, hire, and manage a team of engineers, fostering innovation and technical excellence. This role involves leading the design and implementation of AI agentic systems, including LLM selection, control flow design, tool development, and evaluation frameworks. The engineer will also serve as the senior-most technical contributor, writing code, conducting design reviews, and prototyping solutions. Collaboration with stakeholders from other infrastructure and ML teams is key, as is establishing and owning metrics to measure the success and impact of the team's work on developer productivity and infrastructure efficiency.
