Requirements

  • BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art hardware systems, software tools and algorithms for interfaces required for sensors, actuators, firmware development, in-vehicle bus architectures, in-vehicle CPU/GPU computing platforms
  • Experience with computing architectures such as FPGAs, GPUs, MCUs, SoCs and their associated hardware computing platforms
  • Serial communication protocols, including SPI, CAN, Flexray, or Ethernet
  • Deep expertise in creating safe and efficient system architectures and complex hardware-software systems including knowledge of middleware implementation and testing
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards including ISO 26262, Euro NCAP, FMVSS and other regulations, industry benchmarks and customer requirements
  • The ability to drive and manage complex projects according to program schedules within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with Polarion, JIRA, and Quality Management Systems
  • Background in complex automotive ECU designs and integration at an OEM / Tier 1 level

Responsibilities

  • Owns the entire development lifecycle of high performance compute hardware from selection to end-of-life
  • Lead and contribute to hardware engineering deliverables such as RFI, RFQ, HW specs, test plans, test reports, system integration plan for compute platform
  • Collaborate with the cross-functional teams to develop requirement specifications including functional and performance KPIs
  • Contribute to defining the system-level architecture, including requirements, interface control, and data flow
  • Lead hardware and firmware development collaboration with the Tier-1 supplier
  • Works with suppliers and internal teams to ensure parts meet required specifications and performance standards
  • Ensure that hardware meets specifications for performance, safety, and reliability
  • Ensure that hardware comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that components meet cost targets for the overall product
