Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 7 years of programming experience in Object-Oriented/System languages such as C/C++, Rust, and Python, with a strong emphasis on Rust. Experience with electro-mechanical products and embedded microcontrollers, including Interrupts, Timers, DMAs, and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet) is required, along with understanding of Electro Magnetic Interference and Back EMF.
The Principal Embedded Systems Engineer – Avionics / GNC will manage requirements for Low SWaP systems, including sensor selection and placement, PCB design and mechanical integration, materials sourcing, firmware and software engineering, hardware and firmware testing, and applying EMI, EMF, Back EMF, and SWaP concepts to achieve project goals. They will also be responsible for motor control, lithium battery systems, sensor interfacing and sensor fusion, control theory, wireless communication, bootloaders, and independently troubleshooting electrical and firmware issues using test equipment.
