Requirements

Candidates should have 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform, or security engineering roles. Deep hands-on experience with AWS core services (EC2, RDS, ECS/EKS, IAM, etc.), infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred), and Kubernetes or equivalent container orchestration tools is required. A strong grasp of infrastructure and application security practices, experience supporting regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, etc.), clear and effective communication skills, comfort working cross-functionally and leading by influence, a bias toward action, pragmatism, and simplicity, and proven success in high-autonomy, small-team, or startup environments are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Principal DevSecOps Engineer will own and evolve systems for building, securing, and scaling the platform. Responsibilities include improving GitHub Actions pipelines for build speed, consistency, and visibility; architecting and automating AWS infrastructure using Terraform and IaC best practices; enhancing observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting in Datadog; defining and enforcing best practices for cloud and application security; partnering with engineering to embed security into the development lifecycle; supporting compliance efforts for HIPAA and SOC 2 Type II readiness, including evidence generation and audit support; serving as the subject matter expert for DevOps, platform security, and cloud infrastructure; and collaborating with leadership to define technical strategy, roadmap, and investments in platform reliability and security.
