Ability to read and understand “Change Spec. Card Procedure” and “Non-Conforming Product Procedure”
Abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently (representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities)

Responsibilities

Get magnets from magnet board containing work order information for production
Locate pallet or cart with the WOR folder containing corresponding material, work order numbers, and instructions
Determine and obtain the correct tool for the job from the tooling rack
Remove tooling from box, attach bearer blocks, and slide into tooling station
Set the machine for the appropriate job
Retain supplier raw material tag with lot # and run # information along with “Approved for Use” tags (or record details if returning excess material)
Complete “Sign-off Check List” (requires sign-off from experienced operator if less than 1-year experience)
Print core tags or box tags, along with 1st piece and last piece labels with correct information
Ensure right material is used on the proper side of the liner and in the right orientation
Place material in machine, feed through fife guide, and adjust for center run
Place adhesive in machine and align with materials
Start machine, adjust tension and alignment as needed
Pass material through to die cutting station
Remove waste or air-injection from the tool
Adjust nip-roller speed for proper speed and dimensions
Verify part to print or mylar and record dimensions
Retain first approved piece and place label on back side
Complete In-Process check sheet during the run
Complete End-of-Run sign off confirming required parts were produced
Retain last approved piece and label back side
Maintain a clean and safe work area, cleaning floor, machine, and work area at end of each job and shift
Cut cores for particular jobs when needed and obtain necessary boxes and materials
Operate production equipment to produce good, quality product efficiently
Make suggestions for ways to improve production process
Work with sales and estimating to test/run samples for new product introduction
Ensure product matches spec card and required quality (tolerances, etc.)
Update spec card for future runs when process is changed
Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions and adjust machines
Change worn machine accessories such as cutting tools and brushes using hand tools
Perform minor machine maintenance (oiling, cleaning, changing filters, adding lubricant)
Notify supervisors when major service is required
Other duties as assigned
