Requirements

  • High School diploma or High School Equivalency
  • Ability to read and comprehend American English
  • Previous experience in packaging and shipping (desired)
  • Must attain proficiency in using Sonaca’s Work Order Tracking Program
  • Application of basic math skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • Attention to detail
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Positive, team-player attitude
  • Strong work ethic
  • Dependable
  • Forklift certification (for operating forklift)

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand work order requirements
  • Identify parts with printed and/or electronic pictures
  • Un-rack, un-mask, and solvent-clean parts, when required, prior to packaging and shipping
  • Package parts in accordance with Sonaca’s procedures and work order instructions
  • Operate pallet jacks and forklift (with appropriate certification)
  • Operate weight scales to verify quantities
  • Keep packaging and shipping areas clean and organized per company Ultraclean/6S requirements
  • Observe safety requirements and use all required safety equipment
  • Handle customer-supplied product with care
  • Maintain and reinforce Sonaca’s quality standards to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Available to work overtime when required, including weekends
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Paint/Shipping Supervisor or trainer
  • Package orders in accordance with work order instructions and established Sonaca North America procedures under direct supervision of Shipper 2 or Shipper 3
  • Process all customer products in a safe manner to eliminate damage during the packaging operation and transit to the customer
