Currently enrolled in a high school program at minimum
Experience in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue technique
Ability to achieve Red Cross Lifeguard certification
Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Solid customer service skills
REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID required (effective May 7, 2025, for access to federal facility)

Responsibilities

Achieve and maintain all appropriate Red Cross certifications and furnish copies to the Property Manager
Generate and maintain appropriate activity reports
Watch people in the pool to warn against inappropriate activity and provide personal assistance as needed
Provide emergency care and treatment until emergency medical services arrive
Enforce property rules at all times, including appropriate attire, no food/beverages in pool area, and controlling occupancy per Red Cross standards
Ensure the pool area is clean and in good repair; call Certified Pool Operator (CPO) for maintenance/cleaning assistance as needed
Perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
Open and close the pool area at appropriate times, ensure gates are locked at end of day, and clean/test pool as needed
Dress appropriately and neatly in prescribed uniform; be neat and groomed at all times
