Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of quality control laboratory, manufacturing, or recycling experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working at sites regulated by OSHA (preferred)
  • General ability to operate lab equipment focused on physical, mechanical, and thermal property testing for rigid materials
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating & maintenance manuals, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills with ability to use varying types of software including basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness (preferred)
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner (preferred)
  • Good follow through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Produce analytical data from materials received or processed through the Polymer Center, including completing routine analytical and laboratory testing in support of Operations teams
  • Document results in databases and/or communicate to others
  • Work to remove unsafe conditions or situations from the Polymer Center Quality Control Laboratory
  • Verify testing data to properly identify outliers within the data
  • Input data into databases daily and navigate data collection system
  • Run calibration checks, preventive maintenance tasks, and simple repair to analytical instrumentation
  • Report to management on the performance of the quality management system
  • Ensure compliance programs for all individual testing
  • Handle clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff
  • Write routine reports and correspondence
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures
  • Serve as a positive representative of the Company to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Create a collaborative, communicative team environment and drive employee engagement with the Company
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed or assigned
