Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management, business, mathematics or finance or five years of related experience
  • Process oriented, persuasive, and capable of supporting accuracy and functionality in a demanding environment
  • PMP designation or experience in producing customer facing reporting and graphics (an asset)
  • Knowledge of tubular or coating industry standards including API & CSA and basic steelmaking (an asset)
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products and ability to learn various in-house computer programs
  • Ability to effectively plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; effective conflict resolution and/or mediation skills
  • Computer proficient with experience in spreadsheets, word processing (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent time management and the understanding hours will vary weekly based on demands of the role and planning cycles

Responsibilities

  • Create and communicate production schedules, defining what is possible from the operation lines
  • Schedule, monitor, and produce production reports in various forms for customers (external & internal) through all phases - from raw material consumption to final delivery
  • Attend operational meetings to understand production performance and incorporate findings into plans and adjustments to current forecasts
  • Lead the planning group’s consolidation of inputs from operations, technical/QA, and planning constraints within the workflow process for project bids to ensure deadlines are met
  • Communicate effectively when there are constraints meeting deadlines and ensure cross functional teams are aware
  • Assist the Sr. Planning Manager in flowing through production schedule changes to all reporting based on revised customer requirements, production limitations and RM availability
  • Report variances and define potential options to overcome challenges as they arise
  • Order raw material and closely coordinate customer plans with supply planning team
  • Aid in the development of monthly and ad-hoc plans
