Ability to conduct in-person exams in Bellevue, WA (with travel to additional locations possible; reasonable expenses paid)
Maintain proper credentialing, state licenses, and any special certifications required for the job
Willingness to participate in video recording of approximately 15% of exams

Responsibilities

Review all medical records and address each client question using client-specific criteria or nationally recognized evidence-based criteria
Ensure rationale for determinations is clear, concise, and supported by adequate documentation
Identify, critique, and utilize current criteria/resources (e.g., national/state/professional guidelines, peer-reviewed literature) for objective decision-making; avoid case studies/cohorts due to limited sample sizes
Provide copies of criteria used in reviews with the report in a timely manner
Return cases on or before due date and time
Make telephone calls as mandated by state/client requirements
Attend all required orientation and training
Perform other duties as assigned, including addressing quality assurance issues, complaints, regulatory issues, depositions, court appearances, or audits
Utilize clinical expertise to review insurance appeals, prospective/retrospective claims, and interpret medical necessity of services per policies, evidence-based guidelines, and standards of care
