Physical Design Engineer at Etched.ai

This is an onsite position with a fully in-person team in Cupertino.

Candidates need 2+ years of Physical Design experience, knowledge of tools and flows from RTL synthesis to GDSII sign-off, experience with back-end design and timing closure on 3nm-7nm nodes, and expertise in UPF-based low power design, power verification, synthesis, scan insertion/ATPG, formal verification, floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, IR drop, and EM/antenna analysis.

Etched has a fully in-person team in Cupertino that greatly values engineering skills, with no boundaries between engineering and research, expecting all technical staff to contribute to both.

A strong candidate will have 2+ years in Physical Design, deep expertise across the full flow from RTL to GDSII especially on advanced nodes, and a deeply creative mindset able to think from first principles; familiarity with transformer models, OpenROAD, or Python scripting is a plus.
