Requirements

Active Maryland Pharmacy Technician License
Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician or 1 year experience as a technician or graduate of a pharmacy program
3 months experience in a backend environment preferred
High School Degree or equivalent
Must be able to stand for the duration of shift (8-10 hours) with two 15 min breaks and one 30 min lunch
Must be able to repeatedly lift 5-10 lbs. for the duration of shift
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30-50 lbs. during a shift (team lifting OK)
Ability to reach and grasp objects at various levels
Good written and verbal communication skills for interacting with all levels of staff
Accurate and detail oriented

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, selects, prepares and packages medications and supplies in preparation for shipment to patients
Performs record keeping functions
Assists in various inventory control processes
Selects, picks, packages and labels medications and ancillary supplies per prescriptions, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist in accordance with the CVS specialty guidelines and pharmacy laws
Accurate counting of medications utilizing a manual process as well as any automated counting devices
Exercise proper hand sanitization and hazardous medication handling practices
Performs functions &/or responsibilities of an Operations Assistant as needed
Responsible for preparing and/or restocking the filling station with medications and/or supplies as needed
Responsible for cleaning all pill counting devices/equipment and general working areas
Assist with training for new employees
Performs other duties as assigned
