Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid pharmacy technician license in good standing with the appropriate board of pharmacy or application submitted
Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check
Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment
All training requirements must be fulfilled, including Relias training at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter
Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
Ability to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects; may involve sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing

Responsibilities

Complete basic and advanced technician training modules to gain essential computer RX knowledge
Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction with pharmacy services
Answer phone calls and address inquiries that don’t require pharmacist expertise
Receive new prescriptions and process refill requests from prescribers
Gather and record necessary information to prepare prescriptions efficiently
Assist pharmacists in preparing prescriptions by counting, pouring, and labeling medications
Maintain a well-stocked pharmacy department by ordering and checking-in supplies
Prepare insurance claims and confirm payment processing
Help patients locate over-the-counter (OTC) medications
Complete housekeeping duties within the pharmacy environment
Make deliveries to clients and manage payment transactions when needed
Engage in staff development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge
