Requirements

  • Ability to operate cash registers and related hardware using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold
  • Knowledge of maintaining merchandise presentation, including stocking, rotating, removing damaged/out-of-date goods, setting up displays, signing, pricing, and securing merchandise
  • Familiarity with company policies and procedures for handling claims, returns, merchandising functions (e.g., pricing, creating signs, verifying on-hands, arranging supplies), ensuring safety, and completing paperwork
  • Skills in monitoring and resolving prescription fulfillment issues, such as processing third-party insurance claims, rescanning images, alerting patients to stock issues/partial fills/physician authorizations, and identifying pharmacist-needed actions
  • Understanding of local, state, federal laws, and corporate policies for assisting pharmacists in prescription fulfillment, processing insurance claims/rejections, and handling paperwork
  • Capability to provide patient/member service, including acknowledging members, identifying needs, initiating fulfillment at drop-off, promoting products, resolving issues, assisting with purchases, locating OTC merchandise, and maintaining safe environment
  • Proficiency in entering prescription data into pharmacy software (e.g., reading prescriptions, translating to codes, transcribing details like drug name, strength, sig, refills, prescriber info)
  • Experience or ability to fill prescriptions (retrieving orders, counting/pouring/measuring/weighing medications, mixing/reconstituting, selecting/filling/labeling containers, using scanning/automated systems)
  • Skills in member assistance at pickup (verifying/entering info into TaSCO, marking prescriptions, retrieving from will-call, scanning tags, gathering signatures for HIPAA/third-party, logging restricted items)
  • Ability to complete work assignments using policies/data/resources, collaborate with others, identify priorities/deadlines, communicate progress, recommend improvements, and adapt to change/feedback
  • Compliance with company policies, procedures, ethics, integrity, Open Door Policy, and related action plans

Responsibilities

  • Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold
  • Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking/rotating merchandise/supplies, removing damaged/out-of-date goods, setting up/cleaning/organizing displays, signing/pricing merchandise, and securing fragile/high-shrink items
  • Maintain the pharmacy area per company policies by handling claims/returns, using equipment for merchandising (pricing, signs, verifying on-hands, arranging/organizing, identifying shrink/damages), ensuring safe environment, and completing/retaining paperwork/logs
  • Monitor/resolve problems in prescription fulfillment by processing third-party insurance claims info, rescanning illegible images, alerting patients to out-of-stock/partial fills/physician authorizations, and identifying pharmacist actions
  • Promote/maintain pharmacy's professional reputation and provide products/services per laws/policies by assisting pharmacist in fulfillment, processing insurance claims/rejections, assisting with orders/purchases, and completing/securing paperwork
  • Provide patient/member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, initiating fulfillment at drop-off, creating orders, promoting products/services, resolving issues, assisting purchase decisions, locating OTC merchandise, and maintaining safe environment
  • Enter prescription data into software by reading prescriptions, translating to codes, transcribing data (date, drug name, strength, sig, refills, prescriber/DEA), and creating/modifying patient records
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving orders, counting/pouring/measuring/weighing medication, mixing/reconstituting as needed, selecting/filling/labeling containers, and operating scanning/automated systems for accuracy
  • Assist members at pickup by verifying/entering info into TaSCO per policies, marking prescriptions, retrieving from will-call, scanning tags, gathering HIPAA/third-party signatures, and logging restricted items sales
