Requirements

  • Act as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting standards for the pharmacy team
  • Lead and develop a pharmacy team providing exceptional patient care
  • Promote best practices and lead through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities
  • Support novel program awareness and onboard newly hired pharmacy team members
  • Recognize colleagues for their success
  • Exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing meaningful patient counseling, and abiding by legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues

Responsibilities

  • Live the company's purpose by helping manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance measures through effective coaching and consistent follow-up
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, coaching the team, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
  • Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding for the store and district, including CVS workflow training, ensuring timely completion of required training/licensure
  • Escalate issues or concerns to the Rx District Leader (DL) as needed
  • Ensure cross-trained colleagues are on-track for timely completion of licensure training
  • Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (DPSs), manage performance through observation, feedback, validation, annual reviews, and closing gaps
