Requirements

3rd year Pharmacy Intern (enrolled in pharmacy school, applying didactic learning to real-world practice)
Ability to work under the direction of a preceptor and complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), activities, and time with district leaders
Knowledge of pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication
Ability to demonstrate empathy, genuine care, and contribute to a safe, inclusive culture
Permitted by state regulation to perform certain tasks (e.g., taking telephonic prescriptions, calling prescribers)

Responsibilities

Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care: create heartfelt moments at pick-up, drive-thru, phone; offer immunizations/services at register/phone; solve/escalate patient problems compassionately
Offer counseling, field medical questions, solicit medical history for optimal care, under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
Maintain high self-awareness; provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to pharmacy team members; share best practices
Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law and directed (e.g., put away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories)
Assist pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt/safe/accurate prescription filling, and service exceeding patient expectations
Operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent SOP application, best practices, and communication; gain overview of store/district/regional operations
