Requirements

3rd year Pharmacy Intern (enrolled in pharmacy school)
Ability to apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice
Work under the direction of a preceptor
Completion of a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), activities, and time with district leaders
Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Demonstrate empathy, genuine care, and effective communication in customer and colleague interactions
Contribute to a safe and inclusive culture
Permitted by law to perform certain activities (e.g., inventory tasks, telephonic prescriptions where allowed by state regulation)
Work part-time in retail pharmacy locations

Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth pharmacy operations, prompt, safe, and accurate prescription fulfillment, and caring service exceeding patient expectations
Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off)
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating personalized moments at pick-up, drive-thru, phone, register; offer immunizations and services; solve or escalate patient problems
Offer counseling, field medical questions, solicit patient medical history for optimal care, under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate changes, where allowed by state regulation
Maintain self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching, training, mentoring to pharmacy team members, sharing best practices
Complete basic inventory activities as directed (e.g., putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories)
Take on increasing responsibility for the safety and effectiveness of pharmacy operations as tenure increases
Live company purpose by following SOPs to help manage and improve patient health
