Requirements

Pharmacist license - Board of Pharmacy active in state of practice (within 30 days)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work primarily days with possible weekends/evenings/holidays (PRN, part-time)
Knowledge of professional standards, regulatory and licensing agency policies, federal and state laws related to pharmacy practice, and organization policies/procedures

Responsibilities

Prepare and dispense medications
Evaluate pharmacy services functions
Collect data, report adverse drug reactions, perform drug utilization evaluation, conduct quality assurance audits, and manage inventory control
Interpret, process, and monitor medication orders for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness
Monitor medication therapy, including analysis of patient medication therapy, medical problems, laboratory data, and special procedures; correlate with other clinicians
Provide medication information to providers and other healthcare individuals in a timely manner
Counsel patients on proper usage, desired effects, and potential adverse effects of medications
Mentor students, interns, technicians, and others in career plans or professional development
Coordinate and oversee workflow with team members (pharmacists, residents, technicians, students)
Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies for safe medication delivery
Recognize and communicate issues/occurrences, assist in resolving variances or unacceptable outcomes
Oversee activities of pharmacy technical staff and interns
Collaborate with medical staff to manage patient treatments and ensure compliance with policies/regulations
Participate in committee involvement, teaching, clinical research, and continuing education
