Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in processing payroll
  • Experience with multi-state US payroll, and Canada (Ontario Province) payroll preferred
  • Experience with restaurant and retail payroll, including tips, preferred
  • Experience with Dayforce Payroll system preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently and with precision, especially with numbers
  • Solid organizational, multitasking and time management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll process, tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and pivot tables
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support weekly payroll for multiple locations across US and Canada
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports for accuracy; process adjustments if needed
  • Maintain accurate payroll records for employees on a weekly basis
  • Coordinate with Managed Payroll team to issue manual checks when needed
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or errors in payroll processing
  • Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reports needed changes
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping confidential information
  • Coordinate with the Dayforce Managed Team to submit and track levies, garnishments, and other third-party deductions
  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues
  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline payroll processes in collaboration with cross-functional teams and the Dayforce Managed Team
  • Document payroll procedures and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned
