Payer Maintenance Coordinator Lead

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

At iRhythm, we are redefining how cardiac care is delivered through innovative technology and data-driven insights. Our mission is to improve patient outcomes and transform the healthcare experience. We’re looking for a strategic and experienced Payer Maintenance Coordinator Lead to join our team and help with the operational and strategic performance of our end-to-end revenue cycle (order to cash).

The Payer Maintenance Coordinator Lead plays a critical leadership support role on the payer maintenance team. In addition to managing payer contract data and ensuring configuration accuracy, this position is responsible for work distribution, team-level escalation handling, auditing activities, and supporting the development and tracking of team scorecards. The Payer Maintenance Coordinator Lead acts as a key liaison between the payer maintenance team and internal stakeholders, helping to ensure payer information is complete, accurate, and compliant—enabling clean claims and optimized revenue cycle performance. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a detail-driven environment while supporting the operational success of others.

Our work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, driven by a passion for delivering innovations that improve the quality of health care and patient experience. We are looking for like-minded individuals to join our team today!

Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and maintain payer data to support claims processing and billing accuracy.
  • Review and validate payer contracts, rate tables, and related documentation for completeness.
  • Maintain contract records in internal systems including Salesforce and ZIO Suite.
  • Support EHR and provider onboarding by ensuring payer configurations are correctly mapped.
  • Ensure all payer updates meet documentation standards for SOX compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, SPPs, Commercial Liaisons, and Billing Vendors to clarify data issues and implement corrections.
  • Distribute and oversee daily/weekly payer maintenance tasks across the team.
  • Serve as the first line of escalation for complex or time-sensitive issues.
  • Audit payer data entries to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Maintain and track team metrics using a scorecard framework aligned to SLA expectations.
  • Identify trends in team performance or system issues and recommend solutions.
  • Assist with training new team members and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the payer maintenance function in cross-departmental meetings when needed.
  • Perform additional duties assigned to support departmental goals and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in payer maintenance, healthcare billing, or claims operations.
  • Experience with denial codes, reimbursement trends, and claims adjudication workflows.
  • Familiarity with billing workflows, documentation standards, and reimbursement practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Ability to co-lead payer initiative projects and execute associated tasks.

Ways To Stand Out

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (validation, audits).
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM/data platforms.
