Requirements

High School or GED Equivalent or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

Welcomes patients, checking them in and completing registration, including verifying demographics, insurance, and collecting service payments
Performs insurance verifications, authorizations, and obtains consent and waiver forms as appropriate
Scans all pertinent information into the patient’s record
Answers and addresses calls, messages, and/or faxes, routing them to appropriate individuals/departments if needed
Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters
Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time
Acts as public relations agent for physicians by serving patients in a friendly, efficient manner
Directs patients to ancillary services as needed
