Bachelor of Science Degree – Computer Science or related field
Japanese language: N3 & above
English business fluency
8+ years IT delivery experience
Tier 1 insurance carrier transformation experience, preferred
Familiar with commonly used insurance system packages, preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of insurance product definition, rating engine, underwriting rules, regulatory reporting
Knowledge of COBOL/Assembler/JCL/CICS/IMSDB/zOS Connect
Mastery in IBM mainframe platform environment setup
Experience in integration of IBM mainframe and open systems
Exhibits confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates others to perform well with excellent coaching skills
Ability to operate and have credibility with business partners
Strong interpersonal skills and ability for productive collaboration across varying departments; comfortable building relationships, internally and externally

Responsibilities

Responsible for PAS developments from end-to-end including support IT/ST/UAT as needed
Contribute to PAS transformation related to IT Modernization program in Japan
Provide guidance to other development team members as needed
Communicate and guide vendor development team to ensure the direction and delivery quality
Designing, coding, testing, and maintaining programs and software applications on mainframe systems
Enhance existing software systems and participate in agile software development practices
Review application code to identify critical defects and provide necessary fixes
Collaborate with other teams to develop, design, and troubleshoot software applications
Responsible for full system development life cycles, integration testing, and acceptance testing
Governance of vendors to deliver solutions
