Requirements

  • Master's degree
  • Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health (LPC-MH) - Licensing Board (active license in the state of practice upon hire) OR Clinical Social Worker - Practitioner in Private Practice (CSW-PIP) - Licensing Board (active license in the state of practice upon hire) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - Licensing Board (active license in the state of practice upon hire)
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (72hrs/2wks)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates a clinical treatment program for the diagnosis, treatment, or referral of clients/patients presenting moderate to severe social adjustment problems
  • Adheres to policies assuring the confidentiality of client communications
  • Provides a multi-disciplinary, holistic approach to the treatment of clients, coordinating with appropriate hospital departments
  • Conducts individual, family, or group therapy sessions in accordance with accepted principles of the National Association of Social Workers
  • Assesses progress of clients/patients and modifies or extends treatment program accordingly
  • Coordinates care of clients/patients with referring physician or agency
  • Documents therapy in accordance with hospital policies and procedures on medical records
  • Intervenes as a crisis counselor in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment (e.g., substance abuse, suicide attempts, psychotic episodes)
  • Refers clients/patients to outside agencies where appropriate
  • Communicates with family members/significant others to further the effectiveness of client/patient treatment and progress
  • Coordinates client/patient billing and modifies treatment program in accordance with insurance coverage, plan provisions, and individual ability to pay
  • Provides educational programs on psychological topics to hospital/community groups as requested
  • Assists in coordinating, planning, implementing, and facilitating programs and counseling services on an outpatient basis, including individual, group, and family counseling, crisis services/evaluation, tele-therapy services, assessments, treatment, and crisis intervention for mental health or dual diagnoses issues
  • Provides community/education services (some travel occasionally required)
