Requirements

Dialysis RN experience preferred
Entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP)
Ability to perform heavy lifting and move patients
Ability to stand for prolonged periods and bend over
Ability to move and lift machines and equipment up to 200 lbs
Ability to lift chemical and water solutions up to 30 lbs
Ability to complete CAP requirements

Responsibilities

Educate patients on in-center, home dialysis and transplant
Run treatment on both in-center dialysis machines and home dialysis machines
Perform ongoing patient data collection and analysis
Adjust treatment plans as indicated
Assess and document patient/family learning needs
Direct and provide hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients
Administer medications as prescribed
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as a resource for the healthcare team
Participate in staff training and orientation
Ensure correct laboratory collection and processing procedures
Identify expected outcomes and update nursing assessments and plans of care
Ensure patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
