Requirements

  • At least 1 year of RN Dialysis experience
  • RN active license
  • Ability to perform physical demands including heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending over, and lifting/moving equipment up to 200 lbs. or solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plans, and notify supervisors/physicians as needed
  • Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education
  • Direct and provide, in collaboration with staff, safe and effective hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients
  • Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms, documenting justification and effectiveness
  • Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
  • Serve as resource, leader, coach, mentor, and role model for employees
  • Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping, and reschedule missed collections
  • Identify expected outcomes, document, and update nursing assessment and plan of care in collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team
  • Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
  • Participate in education and quality improvement projects
  • Serve as Preceptor to new employees
  • Complete CAP requirements to maintain or advance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
