Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • No prior RN dialysis experience required
  • 12 weeks of paid and structured training with an assigned Preceptor and Nurse Educator

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients within a dialysis center
  • Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities as a key member of the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) healthcare team
  • Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre, during, and post hemodialysis treatment
  • Document patient data in the medical record
  • Adjust or modify the treatment plan as indicated
  • Notify Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, or Physician as needed
  • Recognize and report patient status variations
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members for input
  • Perform ongoing assessments of daily patient care needs
  • Collaborate with direct and ancillary patient care staff
  • Provide chronic hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients
  • Administer medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithms
  • Ensure correct laboratory collection and shipping procedures
  • Reschedule missed or insufficient laboratory collections
  • Work under the direction of the Clinical Manager and with guidance from educators and experienced nurses
  • Complete requirements to advance to the next CAP level within 24 months
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, and regulations
