Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP); required to complete CAP requirements to advance
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending over, moving machines/equipment up to 200 lbs. with assistance, lifting chemical/water solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
Work in a health care facility environment with potential exposure to infectious/contagious diseases, moderate noise, air temperature control
Capability for desk work, computer work, patient/staff/physician interaction, and possible travel to training sites or other facilities

Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
Delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff (RNs, LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians)
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities as part of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team
Perform ongoing systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust/modify treatment plan, and notify Team Leader/Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Physician as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family basic learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
Direct and provide, in collaboration with staff, all aspects of daily safe and effective hemodialysis therapy delivery
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm(s), document justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as a resource for health care team, participate in staff training and orientation of new staff
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping; reschedule missed/insufficient collections
Identify expected outcomes, document/update nursing assessment and plan of care through collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team
Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, nursing practice standards, state/federal regulations, under Supervisor direction and with guidance from Clinical Educator/Preceptor or in collaboration with other RNs
Assigned oversight of Patient Care Technicians
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
