Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level designation into Clinical Advancement Program (CAP 1)
Ability to work full-time, 10-12 hour shifts (MWF: 5am-4:00pm, TTS: 5am-4:20pm CST)
Availability every other Saturday; Sundays off
No on-call requirement
Physical ability for heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs. (with occasional assistance for up to 200 lbs. equipment)
Tolerance for healthcare facility environment (moderate noise, air temperature control, exposure to infectious diseases)
Completion of CAP requirements to advance

Responsibilities

Perform all essential functions under direction of Supervisor, with guidance from Clinical Educator, Preceptor, or in collaboration with other RNs
Conduct ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plans, and notify Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Physician as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family basic learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
Direct and provide, in collaboration with direct and ancillary staff, safe and effective daily hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms, documenting justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as resource for healthcare team; participate in staff training and orientation of new staff
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping; reschedule missed or insufficient collections
Identify expected outcomes; document and update nursing assessment and plan of care via collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team
Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
