Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP); required to complete CAP requirements to advance
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending over, moving machines/equipment up to 200 lbs. with assistance, lifting chemical/water solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
Work in a health care facility environment with potential exposure to infectious/contagious diseases, moderate noise, air temperature control; may require travel to training sites or other facilities

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment for assigned patients, document in medical record, make adjustments to treatment plan, and notify Team Leader/Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Physician as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family’s basic learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family
Direct and provide, in collaboration with direct and ancillary patient care staff, all aspects of the daily provision of safe and effective hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm(s), document medical justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as a resource for health care team; participate in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures; reschedule missed or insufficient collections
Identify expected outcomes, document and update nursing assessment and plan of care for assigned patients through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team
Ensure patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options
Delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff (RNs, LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians)
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities
Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state and federal regulations
Perform all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator/Preceptor or in collaboration with other RNs
Assigned oversight of Patient Care Technicians
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
