Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) license
Dialysis experience preferred, but not required (will train)
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending, moving equipment up to 200 lbs. (with assistance), lifting solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
Completion of CAP (Clinical Advancement Program) requirements to advance
Ability to work in a health care facility environment with exposure to infectious diseases, moderate noise, air temperature control

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plans, and notify supervisors/physicians as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
Direct and provide, in collaboration with staff, safe and effective hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms, documenting justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as a resource for the health care team, participate in staff training and orientation of new staff
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping; reschedule missed collections
Identify expected outcomes, document and update nursing assessment and plan of care in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team
Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities
Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, nursing standards, state/federal regulations
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
