Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level position; no experience required
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending, moving machines/equipment up to 200 lbs., lifting solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
Completion of CAP (Clinical Advancement Program) requirements to advance

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plan as indicated, and notify Team Leader/Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Physician as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family’s basic learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family
Direct and provide, in collaboration with direct and ancillary patient care staff, all aspects of daily safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm(s); document justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as a resource for health care team; participate in staff training and orientation of new staff
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping; reschedule missed or insufficient collections
Identify expected outcomes; document and update nursing assessment and plan of care through collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team
Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities
Delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff (RNs, LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians)
Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state and federal regulations
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
