Registered Nurse (RN) license
No previous dialysis experience needed (extensive paid training provided)
Ability to work full-time, 10-12 hour rotating shifts, 4 days/week, including every other Saturday (clinic hours: M/W/F 4:30am-9:30pm, Tue/Thu/Sat 4:30am-5pm)

Responsibilities

Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities as a member of the nephrology health care team to enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations
Coordinate patient care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of hemodialysis patients, including delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff
Perform ongoing analysis of patient data with each patient visit and document in the patient medical record
Adjust or modify the treatment plan as indicated and notify supervisor as needed
Provide initial and ongoing education to patient and family
Administer medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithm(s), and document appropriate medical justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are performed
Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team on the patient care plan
Ensure patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options
Complete CAP requirements to either maintain or advance within the program
Make referrals to Social Worker and Registered Dietitian as appropriate
Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state, and federal regulations
