Requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure
Ability to function as part of the hemodialysis health care team under direct supervision of a registered nurse
Adherence to FMCNA Compliance Program, regulatory requirements, division/company policies, mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy
Knowledge and skills to perform technical aspects of dialysis procedures, monitor treatments, and document patient care
Ability to report and document new or unusual incidents, information, complaints, problems, significant changes in patient condition, or equipment issues
Capability to promote and assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for assigned patients, including all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed
Administer and monitor dialysis treatments in accordance with the current treatment plan or supervisor directions
Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on dialysis flow sheets and other patient care information in individual patient records
Report any significant information, changes in patient condition, or equipment problems to the supervisor
Assist in developing and following the teaching plan to educate patients and families on end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications
Assist with all emergency situations
Drive FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards, providing outstanding service to external and internal customers
Develop and maintain effective relationships through timely communication, taking initiative to respond, resolve, and follow up on customer service issues
