Requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
Ability to function as part of the hemodialysis health care team under direct supervision of a registered nurse
Adherence to FMCNA Compliance Program, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Knowledge of safe and effective dialysis therapy
Skills in customer service, effective communication, and relationship building
Ability to report and document incidents, patient conditions, and equipment problems
Capability to maintain a safe and clean work environment

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for assigned patients, including all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed
Administer and monitor dialysis treatments in accordance with the treatment plan or supervisor directions
Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on flow sheets and other patient record information
Report significant information, changes in patient condition, or equipment problems to the supervisor
Assist in developing and following teaching plans to educate patients and families on end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications
Assist with all emergency situations
Drive FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards, ensuring outstanding service to all customers
Develop and maintain effective relationships through timely communication and follow-up on issues
Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care
Promote and assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment
