Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with technical skills including RAC, Exadata internals and administration, Goldengate, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), RMAN backup and recovery, Data Guard setup and MAA, scripting, automation, performance tuning, and security. An undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required, along with an understanding of IT service standards like ITIL. Experience interfacing with external customers, strong customer service focus, excellent communication, self-motivation, attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective organizational skills are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Oracle Database Consultant will provide comprehensive support for managed database and application infrastructure operations, including installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle databases. Responsibilities include Oracle administration tasks such as RAC, RMAN, Data Guard, Golden Gate, Exadata, performance tuning, WebLogic middleware, and Oracle customer tools. The role involves designing and implementing backup/recovery strategies, setting up Oracle replication, coding scripts, developing monitoring methods, Linux/Unix and Shell scripting, and working with RAC. Consultants will coordinate, analyze, design, implement, and administer IT solutions, recommend best practices, administer backup procedures and disaster recovery plans, present technical courses, participate in on-call coverage, communicate status, and collaborate with remote team members, all while working shifts to cover the PST timezone.
