Requirements

Fully qualified optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
GOC registered performer with NHS area team or health board
MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining, funded and supported by Asda)
On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
Evidence of Right to Work in the UK
Evidence of being on the NHS performer list for the relevant nation
2 clinical references
For Wales: evidence of WECS accreditation & WGOS module accreditation
Able to use clinical skills and passion to deliver memorable customer experience
Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping departmental culture

Responsibilities

Completing eye examinations, contact lens, and extended service examinations
Working alongside Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues with training, coaching, and maintaining departmental standards
Delivering high quality patient care and service, prioritizing customer health and wellbeing
Delivering wide range of care for treatment and monitoring of eye conditions (supported with accreditations)
Participating in CPD programme and completing further accreditations (protected time provided)
Optional: Supervising students to support next generation of optical professionals
Contributing to store's excellent service levels and fostering positive relationships within team and community
Working part-time shifts (32 hours/week) on specified rota: Week 1 (Sat, Tue, Wed, Thu 09:00-17:30); Week 2 (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu 09:00-17:30)
